Background/Situation
On Windows, while trying to evaluate symbols that are missing in the current module (that is being debugged at the moment), the message Identifier is not available in, possibly due to compiler optimizations can appear. |
For example: Identifier 'ToString()' is not available in 'FKey', possibly due to compiler optimizations
Question
Why doesn't it evaluate? FKey::ToString exists in InputCoreTypes.h in FKey struct declaration.
Answer
Evaluation on windows depends on the context - frame, module (dll). Different dll have different available symbols for evaluation. Windows may lookup symbols only in current dll. To look up in another module, the context operator should be used.
For example: {,,UnrealEditor-InputCore.dll} Params.Key.ToString() == L"E"
