Problem
When creating new files in Visual Studio using ReSharper action Add → New Item…, a Save File dialog sometimes appears instead of creating the file directly. This behavior is observed in various scenarios, including ReSharper Quick Actions.
Cause
The issue is caused by a third-party Visual Studio extension: CommentsVS.
Resolution
Disable or uninstall the CommentsVS extension to resolve the issue. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to Extensions Manage Extensions in Visual Studio.
- Locate the Comment Studio extension under the Installed tab.
- Select the extension and click Uninstall.
- Restart Visual Studio to apply the changes.
This should prevent the intermittent appearance of the Save File dialog when creating new files.
