Symptoms
- TeamCity Server is installed on a Windows machine.
- TeamCity Server was updated using Automatic Update.
- The Windows registry and the list of installed applications were still displaying the old, not updated, TeamCity version number. They were updated using the steps described in the Old TeamCity version in the installed Windows applications list after the update article.
- However, the TeamCity Server Windows uninstaller, located at
<TeamCity Server Home>\Uninstall.exe, still shows the previous, not updated, version, in its properties dialog.
Cause
As described in the documentation, the automatic update doesn't update the Windows uninstaller.
Resolution
It is expected. While the TeamCity version in the registry and the list of installed applications can be updated using the steps described in the Old TeamCity version in the installed Windows applications list after the update article, the uninstaller itself will remain unchanged.
If, for any reason, it is critical for the TeamCity Server Windows uninstaller to have an actual version number, the Manual Update should be used.
