Problem
When logging in to Central CLI using IDE Services (central login --enterprise), all AI agents appear as “blocked by AI governance” even though the organization’s AI profile in IDE Services shows the agents enabled.
Example output:
❯ central agents
Agents
⠶ Junie not installed · blocked by AI governance
⠶ Claude Agent installed · blocked by AI governance
⠶ Codex not installed · blocked by AI governance
⠶ Gemini CLI not installed · blocked by AI governance
⠶ Pi beta not installed · blocked by AI governance
⠶ GitHub Copilot beta installed · blocked by AI governance
Cause
This is caused by a known bug where the same provisioning endpoint is used for AI Management and IDE Services, which results in Central CLI not receiving the expected AI Governance provisioning when authenticated via IDE Services.
Resolution
Until the bug is fixed, apply the following workaround:
-
Log in to IDE Services.
-
Navigate to Profiles >
profile_name> AI Enterprise tab. -
Change “Always use the default provider(s)” to “JetBrains AI”.
-
Log out of Central CLI and then log back in with the following commands:
central logoutcentral login --enterprise -
After re-authenticating, re-check agent status (for example, with
central agents).
