Configuring a Custom Path for Git Cache on Agents

Can the TeamCity agent Git cache directory, system/git, be moved to a custom path? Can this be placed on an SMB/shared path?

Answer

TeamCity does not provide a dedicated property to move only the system/git directory.

The recommended option is to configure the agent systemDir property in the agent’s buildAgent.properties file. This moves the entire agent system directory, including the Git cache under system/git.

Example:

systemDir=D:/TeamCityAgent/system

With this setting, the Git cache will be stored under:

D:\TeamCityAgent\system\git
