Question
Does TeamCity plan to implement AI Governance features?
Answer
This is the status as we approach the 2026.1 release.
By AI Governance, we primarily mean capabilities such as bring-your-own key (BYOK), support for local LLMs, model selection, usage policies, and analytics (consumption and ROI) for AI features in the product.
- This year, JetBrains is introducing a new product, JetBrains Central, which will provide AI Governance capabilities and more. We are working on integrating it with TeamCity. Once this integration is available, we recommend using Central for these scenarios — stay tuned for updates.
- We are also working on support of bring-your-own key (BYOK) directly in TeamCity, without requiring JetBrains Central.
- If AI governance is critical for your use case right now, we recommend using TeamCity with AI agents via CLI (which already supports most scenarios, such as configuration, migration, and build investigation, and continues to improve), as well as MCP (planned for 2026.1). In these setups, you can apply your own AI governance. We are actively improving MCP, CLI, and Skills to provide a smooth end-to-end experience with TeamCity through AI agents.
If having AI Governance directly in the product is important for you, please reach out and share your use case — it helps us prioritize.
