'Agent is scheduled to reboot' label stuck on the Agent Summary page

Symptoms

• The Reboot agent machine link on the Agent Summary page was clicked.
• The agent was not rebooted.
• The Agent is scheduled to reboot label is constantly displayed on the Agent Summary page.

Cause

The reboot command in the agent machine's OS fails. In such cases, the server keeps trying to issue the reboot command, and the Agent is scheduled to reboot label keeps showing up in the UI until the agent is restarted.

Typical causes for the reboot command failure in the agent logs include, but are not limited to:

• Lack of permissions.
• The reboot command requires an interactively specified password.
• The agent is running in a Docker container where the reboot command doesn't work.

Resolution

Restart the agent manually or resolve the cause of the reboot command failure. The exact cause of the reboot command failure can be identified from the <Build Agent Home>/logs/teamcity-agent.log file.
