The Administration > Licenses page displays a warning for some licenses. These licenses are due to expire soon or have already expired.
What's the expected impact of the license maintenance expiration? Should any action be taken?
Answer
The licenses are perpetual for the versions they cover. Meaning:
- If, for example, TeamCity 2025.03.2 is used, and the licenses expire after the release of 2025.03, the licenses cover it.
- However, if TeamCity is upgraded to 2025.07 with the same licenses, they will become invalid, and the agents or the number of available build configurations they provide will become unavailable. If the number of build configurations or authorized agents surpasses the limit, no new builds will run until this licensing conflict is resolved or licenses are renewed to cover the new TeamCity version.
