User with View Project and View Build Configuration Settings can't view the settings

Symptoms

Affected versions: 2025.03 and prior

The user has the following permissions for the project:

• View project and all parent projects
• View build configuration settings

However, this user cannot view the project and build configuration settings. When trying to access the settings, the UI displays "No edit or view permissions."

Cause

Project and build configuration settings are located in the administrator area.

The administrator area is unavailable for users without the Project Administrator role, so users without this role can't view the settings.

Resolution

As a workaround, it is possible to give the user the Project Administrator role for any project (even an empty dummy project). This will allow the user access to the administrator area, and they will be able to view the settings.
