How to get rid of unnecessary .log* files generated in the project root directory

Problem

.log* files are generated by the IntelliJ IDE in the project root directory:

Resolution

Most likely, the reason for the problem is the com.intellij.lang.javascript.service.JSLanguageServiceQueue line enabling extended JavaScript logs. To remove only this option, please perform the following steps:

  • close the IDE;
  • open the IDE configuration directory;
  • find the options/other.xml file inside;
  • remove the mentioned line from the file and save the changes;
  • if there is no such line in this file, please use search and find and remove the corresponding line in the files in the IDE configuration directory.
