Question
After upgrading to JetBrains IDEs 2024.2, such as IntelliJ IDEA and DataGrip, etc., can't change the user interface language to Chinese (or Japanese or Korean) even with the language pack plugin installed in the menu File | Settings | Plugin. It is always displayed in English. Even before upgrading, it shows in Chinese correctly.
Answer
In JetBrains IDEs 2024.2 and later, you may change the language in the menu File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Language and Region, then by clicking the Language dropdown, restart the IDE when prompted.
Current versions bundle the Chinese, Korean, and Japanese language plugins, so you do not need to install a language pack from JetBrains Marketplace.
The Region selection may affect some features, such as JetBrains AI. Please see this documentation for details.
