Background
When debugging a Spring application, pressing step over button sometimes steps into Spring classes, for example: InvocableHandlerMethod.class.
Question
How to avoid stepping into certain classes or packages while debugging an application?
Answer
It is possible to configure the debugger to skip stepping into specific classes or packages:
- Go to Settings (
⌘ + ,orCtrl + Alt + S) | Build, Execution, Deployment | Debugger | Stepping - In the Java section, enable the option Do not step into the classes
- Click the Add (+) button to add a new class or package pattern that you want the debugger to skip
- Enter the fully qualified name of the class (e.g.,
org.springframework.web.method.support.InvocableHandlerMethod) or a package pattern (e.g.,org.springframework.web.*) to skip all classes within a specific package
