Problem
Example: when using IntelliJ IDEA 2025.2 on macOS, pressing Ctrl+D triggers the debug action. This is encountered despite Ctrl+D typically being assigned to other functions such as "Duplicate line" on the default macOS keymap.
Cause
The Ctrl+D key combination may have been inadvertently reassigned in the keymap settings to trigger the "Debug" action (for example, by a third-party plugin).
Resolution
- Open IntelliJ IDEA.
- Navigate to File | Settings | Keymap.
- Use the 'Find Action by Shortcut' feature to search for the action currently assigned to "Ctrl+D".
- If it is assigned to "Debug":
- Right-click on the "Debug" action in the search results.
- Select Remove Ctrl+D to unassign this shortcut.
- Optionally, reassign
Ctrl+Dto its original or desired action, such as "Duplicate line" by searching for this action and assigning the shortcut.
This will restore the expected functionality of the Ctrl+D shortcut.
