A user accidentally deleted a number of files from their Desktop while trying to open a project in IntelliJ. The files are not in the bin and the user is unsure how to restore them.
Question
How can I restore the files and folders that I accidentally deleted in IntelliJ?
Answer
If files have been removed via file manager outside of the IDE, and they are not in the bin, it may be hard to restore them. However, you can check if you can restore them using our Local History feature: Local History
To prevent such issues in the future, we recommend using version control like Git to revert such changes easily.
