In macOS, selecting text using trackpad shows either "Cannot find declaration to go to" or jump to declaration/usage directly

Problem:

In macOS, when selecting text using trackpad in JetBrains' IDE editor, it either shows "Cannot find declaration to go to" or directly jumps to declaration/usage.

Cause:

JetBrains IDE uses "Force touch" by default for "Go to Declaration or Usages" action.

If you start dragging hard enough to select the text, it will trigger the force touch/click function of macOS which activates "Go to Declaration or Usages" action.

Resolution: You can avoid this by dragging to select the text without pressing too hard.

Or right click Settings | Keymap | Main Menu | Navigate | Goto by Reference Actions | Go to Declaration or Usages and choose "Remove Force touch".
