Greyed out options for rebasing, squashing, undo-commit in the git log for commits

Problem

When right-clicking on a commit in the log, several git history altering actions such as rebase, squashing are greyed out.

Cause

Commits are pushed to a protected branch defined in Settings | Version Control | Git. IDE blocks all history-altering actions.

Resolution

Remove the branch name from the "Protected" list in Settings | Version Control | Git.
