How to trigger Terraform metadata rebuild to fix false-positives

There are a lot of false-positive errors in the Terraform files highlighted by the IDE. What could be done to resolve them?

Answer

The following actions trigger metadata rebuild and may fix the false-positives in the code:

• Check if the Build local metadata automatically option is enabled in Settings | Advanced Settings;

• remove the existing .terraform and .terraform.lock.hcl directory and file, if possible;
• run terraform init in the directory again (manually or via the gutter of .tf file)

• check if there is a metadata rebuild progress bar at the IDE bottom;
• make any change in the file to re-invoke the inspections;
• manually invoke the Terraform Tools | Generate Provides Metadata action from the Editor's context menu:
