Problem
In the Git Log tool window, dates and times are not displayed according to the operating system date and time format settings. For example, when the OS is configured with an ISO date format (yyyy-MM-dd) and 24-hour time, the Git Log continues to display dates and times in a different format (such as MM/dd/yyyy with AM/PM).
Cause
The IDE reads the OS date and time formats at startup. Changes made to OS locale or date/time format settings while the IDE is already running are not picked up dynamically.
Resolution
- Verify that the IDE is not overriding the OS formats:
- Open Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Date Formats.
- Confirm that Use date and time formats from system settings is selected (or that the Override system date and time formats option is disabled).
- Restart the IDE.
After restart, dates and times in the Git Log reflect the current OS date and time format settings.
