Mercurial version control integration not detected in IDE

Problem

Mercurial (hg) tools are not detected in the IDE. The version control settings only show Git-related options, despite a valid Mercurial installation, such as TortoiseHg, configured in the system PATH.

Cause

The Mercurial plugin is not installed or enabled in the IDE.

Resolution

Ensure the Mercurial plugin is installed and enabled:

1. Navigate to Settings (⌘ + , on macOS or Ctrl + Alt + S on Windows/Linux).
2. Go to Plugins.
3. Search for the Mercurial plugin.
   • If the plugin is not installed, install it.
   • If the plugin is installed but disabled, enable it.
4. Restart the IDE to apply changes.

After enabling the plugin, Mercurial settings node should appear in Settings > Version Control.
