Problem
It is not possible to perform git add . command from the IDE's Commit tool window. In order to stage/add to index all modified/untracked files in the project.
Resolution
-
In the Commit tool window, files can be included in a commit by selecting their respective checkboxes. Unversioned Files will automatically be staged for commit when selected. So there is no need to do git add command when using the Changelists to manage changes.
-
To align the behavior closer to Git's native interface, enable the Staging Area:
- Open the three-dots menu in the Commit tool window.
- Select Configure Local Changes > Staging Area.
In the staged view, files under Unstaged need to be staged (moved to the Staged node) by clicking the Stage button. This resembles the
git add .operation.
