Sound notification not triggered when commit and push operation is executed

Problem

If the option Commit and Push is used from the commit pane, the sound effect doesn't chime when the commit is finished. This is important because one benefit of sound effects is to allow you to switch to another task until you hear the sound effect.

Resolution

Check if the Play sound option is enabled for the VCS important messages notification group in Settings (⌘ + , or Ctrl + Alt + S) > Appearance & Behavior > Notifications.
