IDE sends too many requests to GitHub

Problem

IDE sends thousands of requests a day to GitHub API:

So many updates to the Pull Request list seem unnecessary, even in case PR feature is not used in the IDE.

Cause

The mentioned network traffic is a result of the GitHub pull request feature polling the GitHub's API to check if there are any new updates that need to be applied.

Resolution

As a workaround, there are some registry keys that could be modified to change the current behavior: github.pr.list.automatic.refresh.enabled - for turning it on/off github.pr.list.automatic.refresh.seconds - for setting the number of seconds between refreshes

To access the IDE registry settings – press Shift key two times (to open Search Everywhere) > search for Registry.. > modify the relevant registry keys > restart IDE.
