Problem
Every time a project is opened, the Subversion authentication dialog prompts for ID and password.
Cause
The credentials were not saved in the system Keychain during the previous authentication process.
Resolution
-
Confirm that the checkbox to save the credentials is enabled on the authentication dialog
-
Ensure the correct password manager is selected in Settings (
⌘ + ,orCtrl + Alt + S) > Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > Passwords If the selected option is not working, try switching to another one (e.g. KeePass or Native Keychain) -
If the issue persists, try clearing the cached credentials:
- Navigate to Settings (⌘ + , or Ctrl + Alt + S) > Version Control > Subversion > Clear Auth Cache.
- Re-authenticate and enable the option to save the credentials.
Once the password is stored correctly in the selected keychain, SVN should no longer prompt for authentication upon opening projects in the IDE.
