Problem
In IDE's Git tool window (log pane), searching for commits using a partial hash does not yield results, requiring the entire hash to be entered.
Cause
The current implementation requires the full commit hash to perform a successful search operation within this context.
Resolution
Currently partial search for commit id's is not implemented. As a workaround, consider using the Go to Hash/Branch/Tag option in the Git log pane. This feature supports finding commits by entering a prefix of the hash ID. Follow the provided steps:
- Navigate to the Git Log pane.
- Use the Go to Hash/Branch/Tag search function.
- Input the starting characters of a desired commit hash.
