Shelve Changes option is missing

Problem

The "Shelve Changes" option is not available in the context menu in the Commit window.

Cause

This behavior occurs because the IDE is configured to use the Staging Area for changes with Git rather than Changelists. In this setting, the "Stash Changes" option replaces the "Shelve Changes" option.

Resolution

To enable the "Shelve Changes" option, configure the IDE to use Changelists for managing changes in Git instead of the Staging Area. You can change this configuration as shown in the below screenshot. After enabling Changelists, the "Shelve Changes" option will be available.
