New UI: Restore the missing Git History button in main toolbar

Question

How can I restore the Git history button for the current file, that was available in the older versions of IDEs (in classic UI)?

There are two options to achieve this:

1. Revert to Classic (old) UI: Newer versions of the IDEs default to the new UI that doesn't include this button by default. Install the "Classic UI" plugin to revert the interface. Navigate to Settings → Plugins → Marketplace, search for the 'Classic UI' plugin, and install it. Restart the IDE to apply the change.

2. Customize the main toolbar in the New UI: Alternatively, to keep using the new UI and regain the same functionality, it is possible to manually add the Git history action back to the main toolbar:

   • Navigate to Settings → Appearance & Behavior → Menus and Toolbars → Main Toolbar → Right section.
   • Right-click on the Right node, choose Add Action → Version Control Systems → Git → Show History.
   • Confirm the changes by pressing OK twice.
