Failure to clone a GitHub Resource temporarily unavailable: intellij-git-askpass-local.sh

Problem

When trying to communicate with a GitLab repository from IntelliJ installed on a cloudPC - it fails with a specific error message, shown below in the console output. The error is persistent regardless of whether Zscaler interception is turned ON or Off. GitLab access key is being used to authenticate to the server.

Cause

The IDE is not able to access the script for managing git credentials: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2024.3\tmp\intellij-git-askpass-local.sh. This could be caused by different reasons such as an anti-virus software scanning the temporary folder and blocking IDE from accessing the script, firewall rules marking specific applications/paths as untrusted and blocking access to them, or insufficient free RAM on the machine.

Resolution

Check if an anti-virus software is installed and enabled, that could be scanning the temporary folder and blocking IDE from accessing the mentioned script. Try disabling it and checking if it helps.
Try disabling the firewall. Some firewall rules could mark specific applications/paths as untrusted and block access to them.
Check RAM memory. Ensure that there is enough free RAM on the machine, and enough RAM is provided to the IDE via memory heap setting.
The mentioned script (intellij-git-askpass-local.sh) is located in the IDE system directory. Try to change its location by following this article: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/207240985-Changing-IDE-default-directories-used-for-config-plugins-and-caches-storage. It is the idea.system.path variable.
