dotMemory Unit throws exception when trying to profile projects targeting .NET8+

dotMemory Unit throws an exception in dotMemoryApi.SaveCollectedData() when profiling a project targeting .NET 8 or later. What is the cause of this issue?

Cause

.NET 6.0 is the latest version supported by dotMemory Unit. There are currently no plans for future updates.
