Problem
The IDE Services CLI faces issues when initializing in an air-gapped setup. Specifically, the command bin\ide-services-cli init fails. Additionally, after solving the CLI part, issues persist with profiles not being recognized properly due to offline configurations.
Cause
- The desktop running the CLI is connected to the internet through a corporate proxy, which impacts the CLI's ability to perform initialization.
- The
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONSenvironment variable was not explicitly set to pass proxy parameters.
Resolution
-
Set proxy parameters explicitly in the environment using the
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONSvariable. On Windows Server, you can run the following in a terminal:set JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS=-Dhttp.proxyHost=<your_proxy_host> -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dhttps.proxyHost=<your_proxy_host> -Dhttps.proxyPort=8080 -
From the same terminal session, execute the command
bin\ide-services-cli initto initialize the IDE services server.
