Question
The .NET build runner doesn't provide a setting to select MSBuild bitness.
Documentation states:
The .NET runner uses x86 run platform by default. If the x86 version is not available, it will use x64.
Is there a way to make the .NET build step use the x64 MSBuild?
Answer
It is possible to make the .NET runner use x64 MSBuild by adding the configuration parameter teamcity.internal.dotnet.default.bitness=X64 to the build configuration or any parent project.
To change the default behavior on the whole server, this parameter can be added to the <Root project>.
