Problem
SDK is not configured error appears in an attempt to create a non-Kotlin/Java/Scala project with Junie in IntelliJ IDEA:
Cause
The language you use is not the default language for IntelliJ IDEA. Check https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-80106 for details.
Resolution
Use a dedicated language-specific IDE with Junie, as it enables Junie to perform more effective code analysis.
Currently supported languages:
- Java/Kotlin in IntelliJ IDEA,
- Python in PyCharm,
- Go in GoLand
- JavaScript/TypeScript in WebStorm
- Php in PhpStorm
- Rust in RustRover
- Ruby in RubyMine
We're actively working towards supporting more IDEs and non-Java languages in IntelliJ IDEA.
Temporary workaround:
- (Warning! This is a way to allow Junie general function, but the efficiency will be inferior because Junie won't be able to perform static analysis and semantic checks that are a result of dedicated IDE functions)
- Click on the Set up link near the error message, configure the default JDK, and apply changes:
