Collecting logs and reporting bugs for IntelliJ Language Server

Background

The IntelliJ Language Server (LSP) is distributed as a standalone bundle. The tasks below cover collecting diagnostics and reporting problems.

How to collect server logs when reporting a bug

1. Open the Output panel: View | Output (Ctrl+Shift+U on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+U on macOS).
2. Select IntelliJ Language Server from the dropdown.
3. The path to the full server log file is printed at the top of the panel. Attach that file to the bug report. Or click on the three dots and click "Export Logs..".
