How to restore the Palette window in Swing GUI designer

Question

In GUI designer, if the Palette window is accidentally disabled and not visible, how is it possible to restore it? While the Component Tree is still visible, the Palette of components is missing.

Answer

First, use the menu View | Tool Windows | UI Designer or View | Tool Windows | Palette.

If it doesn't help, please delete the following values in the project's .idea/workspace.xml file:

"UI_DESIGNER_EDITOR_MODE.PaletteManager.SHOW": "false",
"UI_DESIGNER_EDITOR_MODE.PaletteManager.STATE": "ToolWindow",
"UI_DESIGNER_EDITOR_MODE.UIDesignerToolWindowManager.SHOW": "true",
"UI_DESIGNER_EDITOR_MODE.UIDesignerToolWindowManager.STATE": "left",

After modifying the .idea/workspace.xml file, restart the program. The Palette should become visible again.

Note: It is always recommended to backup your project before making any changes to these configuration files.
