Problem
When Cmd+Shift+A the hotkey is invoked, it opens a man page search command instead of the Find Action dialog:
Cause
macOS 10.14.4+ adds the new default shortcut for the Search man Page Index in Terminal:
Resolution
Disable/change the key binding for the Search man Page Index in Terminal feature:
- Open Apple menu | System Preferences | Keyboard | Shortcuts | Services
- Expand the
Textsection to find the shortcut binding for Cmd+Shift+A. - Disable
Search man Page Index in Terminal(or change the shortcut)
Alternative resolutions:
- Use
Search Everywhere(Shift+Shift) shortcut instead ofFind Action(Cmd+Shift+A). - Resolve the conflict and use a different keystroke binding following this article.
The Help Center article Cmd+Shift+A hotkey opens Terminal with "apropos" search instead of the Find Action dialog covers the same shortcut conflict.
