Build is slow in IntelliJ IDEA

Problem

Slow compilation of the project in IntelliJ IDEA.

Build in IntelliJ IDEA is slower than in the command line.

Resolution

• Increase build process heap size via Settings | Build, Execution, Deployment | Compiler | Shared build process heap size (Mbytes)
• Check the Antivirus Impact on Build article and exclude all the required folders and processes from the security scan.
