Updating the IDE never finishes.

Problem

When updating the IDE from version 2021 to the latest version, it seems to hang. It will show that the patch files have been downloaded. However, pressing the button to restart and update never works.

Resolution

• Download the latest version of the IDE from the JetBrains website. For example, download IntelliJ IDEA from https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/ .
• Install the downloaded new version directly.
• The IDE settings will be migrated to the new version automatically.

Or install the JetBrains Toolbox and download the new versions there.
