Problem description
-
IDE does not start with the following error:
java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: listen -
Building (or syncing) a project doesn't work. It prints the following errors in the Build output window:
Permission denied: listen
Permission denied: listen failed
Solution
Disable Antivirus software or firewall (e.g. Windows Defender)
If you don't want to or can't disable the protection:
- Adjust your Antivirus / firewall settings so that IDE default directories, installation folder, the process itself and project files are all excluded from the Antivirus / firewall scan. For instructions, see help article one and two.
- Make sure the IDE is installed on a fast local drive and project files are not located on network drives
