Problem

When opening a project from IDE, if a network share which was previously mounted becomes disconnected, the UI will be stuck at "loading..." for quite a while.

Cause

Our current design is that when a file chooser is opened for, say, /home/user start path, the file system tree component expands all intermediate directory nodes and so loads all their children. This may block indefinitely if a file system contains "black holes" (e.g. network-mounted directory under /home which is inaccessible at the moment).

Workaround

Enable ide.ui.new.file.chooser from Help | Find Action | Registry
