Problem
- Get a JetBrains IDE Trial license (activate Trial via IDE or request to JetBrains Sales Team)
- When trying to activate the Trial license via the activation code in the Licenses window (Help | Register), it fails with the error
Subscription to CLion expired on Jul 25, 2024, you do not have a fallback license for any versions of this product., but the current date is less than the date in the error message.
Cause
JetBrains IDE Trial license is issued for the concrete IDE version and can't be used with other versions. For other versions a separate Trial license should be issued.
For example, if a Trial license is issued for CLion 2024.1, then it can't be used with CLion 2024.2.
Resolution
If it's necessary to use a Trial license with a different IDE version, then:
- for the EAP version, make activation via JetBrains Account option
The Early Access Program
The Early Access Program (EAP) for our products gives you and your team free access to pre-release versions of our software, allowing you to evaluate new features, test issues that have been resolved, and provide feedback.
To use products released under our EAP, you do not need a paid IDE subscription. You will, however, need a JetBrains Account in order to use EAP versions of our IDEs and .NET tools.
- for the release version, activate new Trial via IDE
