Problem
When adding a new customized repository via Settings | Plugin | ⚙ | Manage Plugin Repositories, it reports an error saying "No Plugins found. Check the log file for errors".
Cause
After making sure the updatePlugins.xml has the same format as https://plugins.jetbrains.com/docs/intellij/custom-plugin-repository.html#format-of-updatepluginsxml-file, one possible reason is the incompatible IDE version.
Resolution
Please check the idea-version tag in the updatePlugins.xml file, and make sure the IDE version in use is compatible with the build range defined in the XML file.
https://plugins.jetbrains.com/docs/intellij/plugin-configuration-file.html#idea-plugin__idea-version
For example, if the plugin is compatible with all versions under 2024.1, it should be like <idea-version since-build="241" until-build="241.*"/> or <idea-version since-build="241" until-build="242"/> . The range is since-build <= compatible-build <= until-build .
Need to notice, since the build version is like xxx.xxxxx.xxx, for example, the full version number for 2024.3 is 243.21565.193, so if the plugin idea-version tag is <idea-version since-build="242" until-build="243"/> , 2024.3 is not supported cause 243.21565.193 > 243.
