Problem
When two projects are open, closing one may cause the remaining project to freeze. After exiting the IDE, the associated process can continue running in Task Manager; while this “ghost” process is active, relaunching the IDE has no visible effect. Ending the lingering task in Task Manager allows the IDE to start normally. This is the exception it generates:

Cause
The third-party Amazon Q plugin (version 3.81.251) causes the misbehavior.
Resolution
Disable the AmazonQ plugin. Kill the process as the first time it would not restart. Enable the plugin and IntelliJ restarts.
