Problem
You are seeing the following exception when starting the IntelliJ IDEA or other JetBrains IDE and it does not start
Cannot start the IDE:
Archived non-system classes are disabled
because the java system classloader property is specified (value =
"com.intellij.util.lang.Path.ClassLoader"). To use archived non-system
asses, this property must not be set
Exception in thread "main" FATAL ERROR in native method: processing
of javaagent failed. processJavaStart failed
Please try to reinstall the IDE.
For support. please refer to https/jb.gg/ide/critical-startup-errors
Cause :
The issue is likely caused by the presence of custom changes in idea64.exe.vmoptions in the system directory, which was indicated by a -javaagent error.
It is typically a sign of a cracked version with custom changes to javaagent property but may also happen with custom java runtime changes.
Resolution
You can edit or remove the file manually as described below.
- When an IDE is not installed by Toolbox App: The .vmoptions file is created and located in the config directory.
- When an IDE is installed by Toolbox App: Toolbox App manages the .vmoptions file in this case. You can find its location from: Toolbox App -> the locknut icon -> Settings -> Configuration -> Java Virtual Machine options "Edit..."
Please note that the custom .vmoptions file created using the 'Edit Custom VM Options' action has the priority over the original file in the bin directory.
