How to enable ping indicator on the JetBrains Client status bar

How can I see the ping between local and remote machines on the status bar?

Answer

You can put the ping indicator on the status bar in the bottom right corner in two steps.

1. Enable the flag:
   • Press Shift key twice to open Search Everywhere popup
   • Search for and click on "Registry…" (not "Registry…(On Host)")
   • Find and enable rdct.always.allow.ping.widget flag
2. Right-click on the status bar and enable the "JetBrains Client Connection Stats" in the pop up.

Note: this is not a pure network delay; it also includes the protocol overhead.
