How to increase the timeout or disable automatic updates of the recent projects section in Gateway/Remote Development

Question

JetBrains Gateway attempts to connect to servers that are currently unavailable, which is not suitable for me. How to increase the timeout or disable automatic updates for the Recent Projects section in Gateway/Remote Development?

Answer

1. Navigate to Registry… by using the key combination Ctrl + Shift + A (or Cmd + Shift + A for macOS) in the Gateway and searching for “Registry” in the opened window.
2. Look for: com.jetbrains.gateway.reachable.host.status.update.interval.ms and com.jetbrains.gateway.unreachable.host.status.update.interval.ms
3. Set the desired values in ms or set -1 to disable Recent Projects updates.

Notes:

1. This does not disable the first connection attempt when recent projects are opened for the first time after the app starts up.
2. Available since 2025.2.2.
