Problem
When launching PyCharm and IntelliJ IDEA from the Toolbox App, the IDEs enter trial mode instead of Pro and Ultimate mode respectively, even though the managed settings are applied (as indicated by the company logo appearing next to the settings wheel).
License activation only succeeds via manual activation through Manage Subscriptions → License Server → Activate. This issue does not affect other IDEs like RustRover, GoLand, CLion, etc.
Cause
Even though PyCharm and IntelliJ IDEA successfully connected to the IDE Services server from the Toolbox App:

31 Jul 2026 16:45:58,897 INFO — #c.i.p.trialPromotion — Managed IDE is in free mode and was not restarted into free mode manually. Checking FLS ticket availability
The issue occurs afterwards when the IDEs attempt to check ticket (license) availability from the IDE Services License Vault endpoint with an unsupported HTTP method:
31 Jul 2026 16:45:59,440 WARN — #c.i.p.trialPromotion — FLS ticket availability request failed: Remote call failed: Method Not Allowed. Url: https://<ide-services-server-url>/rpc/checkTicketAvailability.action?productFamilyId=...
The server rejects the HTTP method with 405 (Method Not Allowed) response, preventing the IDEs from acquiring a ticket (license) and causing it to start in free mode.
The root cause was confirmed as a server-side incompatibility in the handling of the invalid checkTicketAvailability request from PyCharm and IntelliJ IDEA.
Resolution
The issue was addressed in the 2026.2.1 builds of the affected IDEs. To resolve the problem:
- Update PyCharm to Build 262.9437.214 and IntelliJ IDEA to Build 262.9437.185 (at least - Or update to the latest version if the newer release is launched).
- Confirm that the license activation now happens automatically and enters Pro/Ultimate mode when the IDEs launch from the Toolbox App, without requiring manual activation through the "Manage Subscriptions" window.
- If updating the IDEs does not resolve the issue, please contact the support team with relevant logs from:
- The affected IDEs, and the Toolbox App, as well as their exact version + build number
- The server-side and its exact version + build number
