Authentication Failed Even Though Users are Already "Authenticated"

Problem

Users still fail to authenticate themselves with the following error message in the IDE:

Authentication Required. Click 'Authenticate' below and provide your credentials in the browser

The error occurred even though users are already "authenticated via their respective auth module", and users are already a part of the Registered Users group in Hub.

Cause

Users have been mapped/imported to the "Registered Users" group by their respective auth module via mapping/importing. However, users authenticate themselves with the login form displayed on the login page instead of clicking the auth module button, causing the error as previously mentioned. This is because users are authenticating through the Hub auth module, not the auth module that they were imported from, hence users are not included in the user list of the Hub auth module.

Resolution

Please check whether users are authenticating by using the login form or clicking the auth module button before moving on to collect the auth module configuration or IDE logs. The login form is only for those who solely use Hub as the auth module. Instructions for logging in with Hub accounts.

If other types of auth modules are configured, please directly click the auth module button (JetBrains Account for this example) below for authentication instead of using the login form.
