Problem
After re-creating the database (deleting the old database/recreating from scratch/deleting database table), the instance could not be activated with the same license key.
Cause
IDE Services License Key is bind to the database instance. When database is recreated, it causes a public key mismatch between the license and IDE Services server as public key is associated with the previous database instance.
Resolution
The license key associated with the IDE services was reset to resolve the issue. Users facing a similar situation should:
- Contact IDE Services support and provide the affected license ID.
- Request a reset of the associated license key by providing the license ID.
The activation should succeed using the new public key for the updated services version.
If the issue persists, revalidate the license key and configurations or contact IDE Services support for further assistance.
Do not regenerate the public key. Regenerating a server public key results in losing all current license configurations and requires IDE Services re-activation. The server will turn into an inactive state, which means that it will stop functioning until activated again. Only proceed with this action if the IDE Services support team has specifically asked for it.
