JetBrains dotCover tool installation fails when uploading the .zip package

Symptoms

When installing the JetBrains dotCover tool using Administration > Tools > JetBrains dotCover Command Line Tools > Install Version > Upload and choosing the .zip dotCover package for upload (i.e., JetBrains.dotCover.CommandLineTools.windows-x64.<version>.zip), the installation fails with a Package is invalid message.

Cause

As listed on the dotCover tool upload page, the supported packages are:

JetBrains.dotCover.CommandLineTools.<VERSION>.tar.gz
JetBrains.dotCover.CommandLineTools.<VERSION>.nupkg

Resolution

The dotCover tool should be downloaded and installed in the correct format.
