Problem
When rerunning a Python program with SciView plots in PyCharm, the old plots are retained as expected. However, using the "Close All Plots" option temporarily hides the plots, but they reappear after the next run. This leads to confusion as it seems like the option does not permanently close the plots.
Users observed that reopening the project resets the behavior, which appears to resolve the issue.
Cause
The "Close All Plots" action in PyCharm does remove the current plots but does not reset the running counter that numbers the plots. On subsequent runs, the numbering continues from where it left off, making it appear as if the old plots persist. However, the old plots are actually cleared.
Resolution
This is the intended behavior. The running counter for plot tabs increases sequentially and does not reset unless the project is reopened.
