Server initialization failed. Message: Pending response rejected since

Answer
This happens when a project is indexing in progress, and then VS Code is updated and restarted. The reason is that the process intellij-server is not killed properly, so the indexing directory is locked. To fix this issue:
- Close VS Code;
- Kill all processes named
intellij-server- On macOS or Linux, use this shell cmd:
pkill intellij-server - On Windows, open Task Manager to kill the process named
intellij-server ILSIJS (console launcher)in the Background Processes section by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc, navigating to the Processes tab, and kill this process.
- On macOS or Linux, use this shell cmd:
- Start VS Code again.
